Parent Review
“Jess carried out an assessment on our daughter due to concerns we had regarding her struggles at school and being academically behind. Jess was brilliant with communicating, patient, thorough and made every step super clear. Our daughter enjoyed her assessment with Jess and we very quickly had a full detailed report. Thoroughly recommend All-in-Dyslexia for anyone who is thinking of getting their child or self assessed. Thank you.”

“We commissioned Jess to undertake a dyslexia assessment with our daughter.
Jess has been great to work with. Before the assessment she communicated information really clearly explaining the process and what we might gain from an assessment. During the assessment, although it is a long process, my daughter was totally at ease and I could hear them chatting happily in between the assessments. Following the assessment, Jess very quickly produced an in depth summary of her findings and took time to take us through the results so that we understood them. I would definitely recommend Jess to other families looking to understand their child’s needs with relation to dyslexia. Thank you Jess.”

“My son had his first lesson with Jessica and his first comments were “I really enjoyed that”. I do not think a 10 year old can give a higher compliment. We are very happy to have found Jessica as a tutor.”
What is dyslexia?
Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects how people learn to read and spell. It may appear as slower or less accurate reading and spelling than expected for someone’s age or education. However, an individual may have good strategies to manage their difficulties, meaning that their reading and spelling may not appear to be as severely impacted as one may expect. Sometimes, there is a mismatch between how a dyslexic individual expresses their ideas verbally when compared with their ability to record them in writing.
Dyslexia can vary in severity and may also affect learning in other areas, like math, understanding what you read, or learning new languages.
The most common issue in dyslexia is with phonological processing—how we hear and work with sounds in words. But other challenges, like working memory, processing speed, and recognising word patterns, can also play a part.
Dyslexia often occurs alongside other conditions like ADHD, language disorders, or dyscalculia (difficulty with math).
🌱 Understanding and Support
Dyslexia often runs in families and can be influenced by a mix of genetic and environmental factors. With the right support and strategies, children with dyslexia do thrive. Early identification and tailored interventions can make a significant difference in their learning journey.
